Puppy Sale Policies:

1.    ALL puppies are sold on contract.

2.    Puppies are NOT absolutely guaranteed. In my opinion nothing living can ever be absolutely guaranteed free from defect. The inherant nature of genetics is too diverse for a breeder to “guarantee puppy health”, in my opinion. There are too many variables in the environment, health, genetics and treatment of a puppy for me to make a firm guarantee statement. There are several things that a new owner can cause in a puppy that are not the responsibility of the breeder. Therefore, there are no money back guarantees. If after 60 days of purchase you are not fully satisfied you may return the puppy to receive another comparable puppy “Free” from the next available litter. The puppy that you are dissatisfied with will be returned at no cost to the breeder. The breeder may resell the puppy to another qualified home or keep said puppy.

3.    In order to help in the research of hip dysphasia in Danes, ALL   puppies will have hips radiographs done at or before two years old for registration with GDC. The radiograph is at the owners’ expense. The registration of the litter with GDC is the breeders’ expense. ALL puppies will be co-owned by the breeder until this obligation is fulfilled. After fulfillment of this requirement the registration papers will be transferred into the owners name as described in the puppy contract. Owners that are not compliant with this responsibility will have their dogs confiscated to achieve this goal. Participation is mandatory of ALL puppy owners, show and pet. No exceptions are made.

4.    Prior to placing a puppy with the perspective owner a questionnaire must be filled out, an in home inspection done by the breeder or associate, and a veterinarian selected. After all of his is completed the chosen owner must place a $150 no-refundable holding fee on said puppy until it is ready to go home. If the new owner changes their mind and decides NOT to purchase said puppy, the breeder retains the full fee. The fee will be used towards the full purchase costs when the puppy is ready to go home with the new owner.

5.    Each puppy will go home with a puppy package. A package consists of four shots, three womings, microchip ID, veterinary exam, pedigree, sample food and information regarding the care of Great Danes. Puppies sold on a spay / neuter contract will be held liable to have said animal spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian within a specific time. The breeder will pay $72 towards the cost of spay/neutering to the veterinarian. The microchip ID will list the breeders, address and phone as an alternate contact incase said dog is lost.

 6.    We raise natural Dane. We prefer not to crop our Danes ears. We do not crop tails or dew claws. We do not alter the appearance of our dogs to win competitions or deceive puppy purchasers. Our dogs are the way they are due to conscientious breeding, excellent care, management and a lovely home atmosphere.

 7.    Each puppy owner is responsible to send a forwarding address when moving. There is also a responsibility to report major health problem, temperament and obedience problems to the breeder. This information is pertinent to the continued successful breeding of quality dogs. The information will be used to spay/neuter breeding animals. There is no way we can know if a dog produces inferior quality if we are not told by the owners. Conversely we cannot know of superior animals if there is no contact from the owners.

Please help us to breed healthy animals by fully participating in GDC and notifying the breeder immediately of health issues that arise.

Footnote:

Policies regarding puppy purchases will be carried out. I am a firm advocate for dog population control. The breeding of dogs is not taken lightly nor is the placement of puppies into homes. Every future home will be investigated. Every puppy will be sold on contract. Any breach of contract will constitute returning the puppy to the breeder at no cost. Any signs of neglect abuse or miss treatment will also result in returning the puppy. The breeder will report cases of animal abuse to local and state authorities and pursue breach of contract in a court of law. Respectfully, PMR
