Methods of Breeding:

v    Contribute to the research of hip dysphasia in Danes by participating in GDC.

v    Each puppy will be co-owed until the entire litter has had hip x-rays and registered with GDC by age two years old.

v    Pay for all non-show dogs neuter or spaying at age 3 months.

v    Use the method of out-crossing and line-crossing to introduce positive characteristics to produce the style of Great Dane I prefer. Never inbreed.

v    Have a low inbreeding coefficient in parents by doing pedigree research.

v    Never use Merles, Whites or animals with major faults in breeding.

v    Use animals with correct conformation, markings and soundness for breeding by prescreening for thyroid, heart and hip dysphasia.

v    Never purposefully breed defective dogs.

v    I may test breed a dog but will inform the future buyers that the parents did not meet prescreening standards and say to what extent they did not meet standards.

v    I ‘cull’ puppies by spaying or neutering, never by euthanasia.

v    Continue to educate myself from seasoned breeders, judges, veterinarians, educational courses and current literature resources.

v    Breed only animals that are over the age of two and have passed prescreening.

v    Breed animals that have been temperament tested and socially proven to be good canine citizens, tolerant of children, new situations and other animals.
